OLE Design Engineer- Coatbridge
Your tasks:
1. Produce design deliverables supported by calculations in line with relevant British, European & Network Rail standards. (Such as - Reports, Addendums, Design Decision Logs, Design Risk Assessments, Allocation Schedules, Dropper Schedules, etc)
2. Understand & utilise design team toolsets to ensure that designs adhere to the relevant standards. (Such as - Wire Run Validation, Wind Loadings, Bridge Clearances, etc)
3. Produce design drawings using Bentley MicroStation (CAD Software) within the Projectwise data environment. (Such as - Layout Plans, Cross Sections, Clearance Cross Sections, etc)
4. Support Site teams with on-site working (where appropriate & required) & update designs to reflect TQs, FCRs, SQs & RFIs.
5. Produce design outputs to agreed programme timescales, using good time management skills & raise early warnings should timescales not be possible with clear justifications.
6. Engage with other disciplines through IDCs & IDRs to develop a fully integrated & high quality OLE design output.
7. Mentor, train & support junior staff and to share knowledge with them.
8. Ensure that up to date records of individual projects are maintained and are available for audit purposes.
9. Participate in lessons learned & knowledge transfer with the rest of the design team.
10. Support implementation of a safe by design approach through all design deliverables, alongside support from peers & senior team members.
The person:
1. Excellent PC skills, fully literate in Microsoft Office & basic skills of CAD software like Microstation and preferably in 3D.
2. Self-Motivated to achieve goals & continuously develop themselves.
3. Able to organise and methodically approach set design tasks.
4. Able to work effectively as part of a team and support others as required.
5. Able to stay calm and work towards deadlines.
6. Strong interpersonal & communication skills, both written & verbal.
7. Able to provide training & mentorship to junior members of staff.
8. Able to travel to different locations as and when required.
9. Full driving licence and vehicle.
