The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $101,404 - $126,755.

Job Summary:
Focusing on energy storage and microgrids, leads the Clean Energy Policy activities for the development and execution of clean energy programs/projects/pilots located in New York, by managing resource requirements, priorities, investment plans, execution strategy, and internal/external resource requirements. Manages team performance to maximize the effectiveness of the program/project/pilot considering regulatory and customer requirements, and operational needs. Ensures programs/projects/pilots are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in conformance to quality and engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Utilizes a proactive approach to overseeing work, measures progress, and takes actions to ensure budgets and deadlines are achieved. Approves project plans, executes contract strategies to undertake work, and controls and authorizes expenditures. Initiates actions to ensure compliance with project management and quality management processes and procedures. Assures that projects are completed within the approved scope, schedule, and budget.
• Ability to manage internal and external project resources. Sets goals and direction to ensure alignment with project deliverables and undertakes action plans and project management activities to accomplish goals.
• Coordinates with other departments, consultants, attorneys, utilities, regulatory agencies, government agencies, and customers to ensure all Clean Energy Policy activities and deliverables are completed successfully.
• Coordinates and manages initial operational oversight of energy storage and microgrid pilots ensuring successful transition to Operations team.
• Provides oversight on various energy storage and microgrid programs, projects, and pilots, including those associated with the organization's Maine and Connecticut efforts.
• Oversees project budgets. Analyzes project performance and initiates actions to control scope, schedule, and cost performance.
• Participates in project team scheduling and budgetary planning processes.
• May represent the company and testify in regulatory hearings or at Federal, State, or local agency or municipal meetings as needed.
• Provides recommendations on policies and goals desired, implements new/revised processes and procedures according to established guidelines.
• Holds project team members accountable for results. Informs management and project teams regarding cost and schedule performance variances and corrective action required.
• Continually monitors individual progress to ensure meeting of specific deadlines.
• Avangrid employees are assigned a system emergency role and in the event of a system emergency are expected to fulfill their assigned role.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required with 5 years relevant experience.
• Degree in Engineering or experience in energy industry preferred.
• Project Management Certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experienced in the energy industry and knowledge of utility operations.
• Ability to interact with external stakeholders and senior management.
• General understanding of energy storage and microgrid technologies.
• Ability to mobilize team members to deliver projects on time and under budget.
• Expert in integrating scheduling tools and software.
• Expert in risk management and mitigation plans.
• Expert in utilizing MS Excel for data analysis, budgeting and planning, and optimizing schedules.
• Ability to use and query SAP.
• Results-oriented, excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Understanding of quality assurance processes and implement with project structure.
• Knowledge of configuration and general understanding of Networks infrastructure.
• Proven ability to lead teams and work in a team environment.
