The Inclusion and Wellbeing Teacher is responsible for providing support to children aged 5 to 11 who may have experienced trauma, have additional support needs, and/or need help to manage self-regulation. This support will be centred on planning bespoke and targeted interventions to ensure inclusion, engagement in and progress in learning.,
* Assess the children's needs and plan to meet those needs.
* Provide differentiated support in the classroom through 1:1 or small group support.
* Collaborate with other school staff to assist children in accessing the mainstream setting and curriculum.
* Work with the children's families to provide support and information about their child's needs and progress.
* Monitor the children's progress regularly and make adjustments to the plans as required.
* Advocate for the children and their needs.
* Support children in developing a positive self-image and view of self as a learner.
* Be able to detail knowledge of the latest research and highly impactful practices in the field of trauma-informed education and support for learning of a broad range of additional support needs., You will work 24.5 hours per week.
This post is temporary until August 2025 due to service requirement. If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership and obtain Catholic Teaching Approval.
* Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
* Master's degree in education or a related field is preferred.
* Have full GTCS registration and have classroom experience.
* A detailed knowledge and understanding of additional support needs and differentiated supports and interventions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment for all children.
Demonstrate an excellent understanding of trauma-informed practices and ASN:
* Understand the different types of trauma and how they can affect children's development and behaviour.
* Be able to identify the signs and symptoms of trauma in children.
* Create a safe and supportive learning environment for children who have experienced trauma.
* Use effective trauma-informed teaching practices.
* Experience working with children who need help to manage their emotions and behaviour.
