The Health Records is a hard-working Team who are highly motivated and effective. As a large Trust, we have services at 6 of the sites and provide key services within the patient pathway for Outpatient, inpatient, pre-assessment Service, Access to Records, and the archiving of records. We work hard as a Team to ensure that patient care is at the forefront of our service. We are a professional and diverse team with different experiences and challenges, and we recognize that both professional and pastoral care for our teams is a priority.
This is a 17 hour part-time post working Monday & Friday 0800 to 1700.
The Health Records Service has 134 WTE staff over 6 sites and may be likened to the engine room, essential in helping EKHUFT move forward in providing patient-focused services. The patient healthcare records are required for each contact the patient has with a health professional. They act as a means of communication between professionals and provide a diary of events serving as the organization’s memory. You will be responsible for one aspect of the department function at a time, but as we are committed to ensuring all staff know each role, multiskilling within Teams is essential, and you will work flexibly within the Service, covering work of colleagues during peak periods of absence.
We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 800,000 people. Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected, and confident that we are making a difference’. We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We're looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families, and carers we care for every day.
Applications for this role should be written by the applicant. If artificial intelligence (AI) programmes are used, then the application may be rejected due to this document being an important part of the assessment process. This does not prevent applicants from seeking appropriate support with applications should they need to for the purposes of any declared disability.
Please note that if you require a Certificate of Sponsorship to work in the UK, you must declare this on your application form, even if you currently have a certificate of sponsorship or a work permit for another role and are already working in the country. We are only able to sponsor candidates on a Skilled Worker Visa applying for roles Band 5 and above.
