Detailed job description and main responsibilities:
* Serve as a credible point of contact, source of specialist knowledge, expertise and leader for Quality Improvement across the organisation.
* Look beyond existing pathways, structures and ways of working to produce more effective and innovative service delivery and partnerships.
* Design electronic and other information collection systems to use and analyse clinical, financial, workforce and performance related data and information; and assist with the identification of areas requiring improvement.
* Work with senior and middle managers, clinicians and frontline staff to conduct root cause analysis and apply problem solving techniques to identify appropriate and practicable solutions.
* Source and share examples of best practice nationally and promote the adoption of new ways of working.

Education and Qualifications
Essential Criteria:
* Registered Midwife
* Degree in Midwifery or related subject
* Mentorship qualification
* Evidence of continued professional development
Experience
Essential Criteria:
* Evidence of recent clinical experience in all areas of midwifery
* Involvement in guideline development and implementation
* Involvement in research and audit programmes
* Experience in risk management investigations
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience of managing staff in an acute setting
* Experience of public speaking/teaching
