Job Description
We are looking for a ‘GM’ to join our award-winning family owed small pub & restaurant group
Ideally you would have had a good kitchen background, it could be your first venture from the Kitchen to the front of house operation in this hands-on role. We would support you with training in all areas of the date to day operation of the business. The job comes with a spacious manager flat above the pub, the only bills you would be responsible for are the local council charge and a TV licence, all other bills are covered. You can eat out of the business ordering food from the menu etc, I’m sure you wouldn’t want to do this every day, so the flat has its own kitchen for you to use too.
I’m proposing a basic salary to start with of (will depend on experience) you should expect the TRONC to be approximately £6,500 per annum (as a minimum) plus cash tips on top. We would review the basic salary after 6 months and also have a better idea on a bonus moving forward. For your information, a live in position including accommodation is worth around £25K a year. .
You will be responsible for maintaining consistent standards of service and ensuring customer satisfaction while creating a work environment that supports our values. You will contribute to the profitability of the pub through the operation of effective cost controls and stock monitoring and have full control of hiring the crew.
The ideal General Manager for this position:
· Must have previous experience in a similar role front of house or Head chef role in a good kitchen
· Must be courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of customer service.
· Must have high standards, a good attention to detail and the ability to organise and plan ahead.
· Must be a good leader, be able to multi-task and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
· Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Must have the ability to build a fantastic team and know that good people are the life blood to a good operation.
· Must be an excellent host and enjoy making people happy.
General Manager Key Responsibilities:
· Responsible for the day to day management of all areas within the pub operation, ensuring delivery of exceptional customer service.
· Ensure costs are controlled in all areas without compromising standards and service delivery.
· Ensure awareness and compliance with all Health and Safety work practices.
· Ensure support of the pubs core values at all times.
· Day to day hiring and developing the team to insure good wellbeing and outstanding customer service.

We only use quality ingredients from artisan suppliers, we have our beef hung for 21 days, our fish is purchased daily with recommendations from the fishmonger and our vegetables are grown locally or sourced from London markets ensuing the outstanding food served along with a great wine list and quality local ales.
