This role will ensure that the wide range of information we provide internally and externally meets the expectations and accurately reflects our performance. Understanding and explaining against our strategic priorities and external expectations is essential. This role provides the job holder with the opportunity to work at all levels across the organisation and with our regulators, building relationships with a wide range of professionals and supporting other teams.
What you'll be doing:
1. Externally facing - Develop relationships with regulators on performance reporting frameworks.
2. Influence the external landscape to avoid overlapping, inefficient, and contradictory regulatory frameworks and reporting requirements.
3. Monitor and influence regulatory, government, and external stakeholders to ensure industry performance fairly reflects our strategy and performance delivery.
4. Own the triaging and handling of regulatory information requests.
5. Internally facing - Understand and be the expert of the differing requirements of multiple stakeholders and regulators.
6. Develop and maintain regulatory performance frameworks that meet internal and external stakeholder requirements.
7. Design and develop regulatory reporting frameworks.
8. Maintain the company Statutory Delivery Monitoring Framework approach, including the overall performance monitoring framework.
9. Review all regulatory submissions to ensure they meet all regulatory relevant requirements and company policies.
10. Translate the meaning and wider expectations for the business beyond the rules.
11. Support the process to optimise group business delivery decisions against the regulatory frameworks and performance data alongside performance teams in the business units.
12. Ensure company performance reporting reflects the correct aggregation between Pennon, the regulatory licences and price controls, and the regions served.
13. Support internal monthly business reviews and board reporting as required.
14. As a Senior Manager, ensure the principle responsibility of returning Home Safe and Well each and every day.
What we are looking for:
1. Experience in a regulated utility environment, with relevant knowledge and experience in the water industry.
2. Extensive experience in regulatory compliance, reporting, assurance, risk management, or a related field, ideally 7-10 years, with several years in a leadership role.
3. A passion for creating a cleaner and greener future for South West Water.
4. A strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
5. Ability to communicate complex frameworks and issues clearly and effectively.
6. Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively across the group.
7. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
8. Relevant qualification or experience in finance, risk management, or assurance.
9. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills.
10. Project management qualification or experience.
11. Ideally experience in data analysis and data investigation.
