Job Purpose:
As the Lead Learning Support Coordinator at CTSW Skills Ltd, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the delivery of high-quality learning support for Pre-16 learners and Apprentices. This includes the delivery of Mathematics, English, PSHE, Employability, and Functional Skills English and Mathematics. You will play a key role in shaping and enhancing educational provision, ensuring that all learners have the opportunity to achieve their potential. Additionally, you will work closely with the management team to design and implement innovative curriculums, develop effective learning strategies, and ensure the smooth running of the learning support packages.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivery of Subject Areas:
* Lead and deliver engaging and effective lessons in Mathematics, English, PSHE, Employability, and Functional Skills to Pre-16 learners and Apprentices.
Curriculum Development:
* Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement new curriculums that align with CTSW’s educational vision and learner needs. Ensure that teaching materials and resources are up to date, inclusive, and cater to diverse learning styles.
Learning Support Coordination:
* Coordinate and manage individualised learning packages for Pre-16 learners, ensuring they receive targeted and tailored support across different subject areas, particularly Maths and English.
Functional Skills Support:
* Provide specialised support to Apprentices who need to develop their Functional Skills in English and Mathematics, assisting them in meeting the required standards for their vocational qualifications.
Monitoring & Reporting:
* Monitor the progress and achievement of learners, using assessments and tracking tools to evaluate outcomes. Regularly report on learner progress to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
Collaboration with Teaching Staff:
* Work closely with subject teachers, vocational trainers, and other staff to ensure a collaborative approach to learner support, sharing expertise and resources where necessary.
Learner Engagement & Wellbeing:
* Foster an inclusive, positive, and supportive learning environment that encourages engagement, boosts confidence, and promotes learner wellbeing. Implement strategies for managing learner behaviour and supporting learners with specific learning needs.
Continuous Improvement:
* Drive continuous improvement in teaching methods, learner support, and overall educational experience by staying up to date with the latest trends in education and learning support.
Professional Development:
* Engage in professional development opportunities and promote a culture of continuous learning within the team, encouraging staff to improve their skills and knowledge.
Key Skills and Experience:
Qualifications:
A relevant qualification in Mathematics and English (Level 2 or higher).
* A degree is desirable, but not essential.
* Evidence of continuous professional development in education and learning support.
Experience:
* Significant experience in teaching or delivering learning support, particularly in Maths, English, PSHE, and Employability.
* Experience in coordinating learning support packages for Pre-16 learners and apprentices.
* Strong experience working with Apprentices to support Functional Skills in Mathematics and English.
* Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to implement educational initiatives.
Skills:
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively.
* Ability to inspire and motivate learners, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
* Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs, including those with SEND or other barriers to learning.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
