About the role: The Submarine Rescue Vehicle (SRV) Supervisor plays a key role in the delivery of operational capability in the rescue readiness and operation of the Rescue System. Supporting the Maintenance Manager, the Supervisor will be responsible for the material state of the SRV, including maintenance. The Supervisor will support the mobilisation and commissioning of the SRV and may be required to operate with the SRV at sea, at all times adhering to JFD policies, processes and procedures. Your key responsibilities will also include: Responsible for serviceability and maintenance of the SRV, working with the Maintenance Manager and wider maintenance team, inclusive of planned/scheduled and corrective/unscheduled maintenance, defect and obsolescence reporting in accordance with OEM instructions, JFD processes and procedures. Responsible for mobilisation of the SRV through all phases and in particular load out of the system from the base facility, embarkation of the Rescue Systems onto a vessel, commissioning of the SRV in preparation for operations. If operationally required, and subject to training and qualification, to form part of the SRV Crew to support operations inclusive of pre and post dive checks, system replenishment, RCO operations and training (subject to training and qualification), and pilot operations (subject to training and qualification). Adhere with all JFD safety and security mandates, processes and procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment. As a member of the SER team, provide support in a real life (Disabled Submarine (DISSUB)) emergency. In a Distressed Submarine (DISSUB) emergency the SRV Supervisor will be called upon to mobilise the NSRS (NATO Submarine Rescue System). What do you need? Skilled Technician in one or multiple of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, hyperbaric specialisms. Hold a recognised technical and or engineering qualification. Ability to obtain/hold STCW qualifications and ENG1. Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001). Able to demonstrate experience of hyperbaric activities. Be familiar with working to marine and defence standards. In addition, it would be ideal to have the following: Experience in commercial or military submarine rescue. Previous experience of commercially sensitive projects. Knowledge of Lloyds Rules for Submersibles and its application Qualified as P1, P2 and/or RCO. Public Service/defence/offshore background. Familiar with international Quality and Safety standards (ISO 9001, 45001 etc.). Familiar with working to facilities and defence standards (DEFSTAN etc.). Experience in the Management of safety. Experience in instructional techniques & operations with high pressure systems. The role may have to provide support and/or deliver projects globally, therefore travel to global locations may be required. You must be able to pass security clearance for this role.
