The Apprenticeship Your apprenticeship will be delivered by one of our partner training providers. As a Business Apprentice you will be following the Level 6 Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship Standard. You will gain the following qualifications and experience during the 4-year programme: Level 2 Diploma in Aerospace & Aviation Engineering (competence qualification) Level 6 Management degree As part of our apprenticeship programme the Level 2 diploma is additional to the degree included in the apprenticeship. This will enable you to complete the basic hand skills training undertaken by our Aircraft Fitter apprentices and will give you an understanding of what is involved in maintaining an aircraft. You will work towards developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours required through a range of workshop training, classroom sessions and on the job learning. Not only will you develop your technical skills you will also develop the behaviours needed to set the foundation for your future career. You will be supported every step of the way by our instructors, mentors, line managers and fellow apprentices. Our Business Apprenticeship will give a unique insight into the various supporting functions within Marshall. By the end of this programme, you will be ready to continue onto the next stage of your career in a part of the business that you have experienced. Our Business Apprenticeship covers potential experiences in: Commercial Liaise with Marshall customers and stakeholders to ensure the correct commercial agreements are in place to support our contractual commitments and deliver on our overall business objectives. To support you in this rotation, there is a large amount of legal and commercial knowledge and experience to draw upon and learn from. Procurement & Supply Chain Manage our business relationships with our Suppliers both UK and International to gain an experience of subcontract management and quality supplier performance. Learn the value in ensuring on time delivery of components and materials to support our Hanger Operations. Estimating Learn how we develop estimates to drive a competitive and fair cost base, supporting our bidding process to win new business. Develop pricing for our Additional Works Claims using experience and metrics before working directly with our Customers to agree pricing. Finance Prepare financial reports on our Hanger Operations for senior management and stakeholders working as a business partner focused on contract delivery and execution. Understand budget monitoring and day to day financial operations within Marshall. Global Growth & Marketing Learn how the Growth Team are at the front of the Sales Order Pipeline to inform the business of potential opportunities. Work within our Business Development and Sales team to enhance existing and develop new customer relationships, growing the Marshall business in line with our strategic objectives. Research new markets and product lines which complement our existing business. Operations A fundamental understanding and experience of Operations is essential in widening your career at Marshall. Work with our Apprentice Aircraft Fitter / Technical apprentices in developing basic trade skills to be used within the Maintenance and Repair Organisation. Bids & Programmes Support Bring together all the knowledge, skills and experience gained throughout your apprenticeship to work within our dynamic bid teams. Experience bid management as part of an Integrated Project Team (IPT) in delivering compelling competitive proposals to our customers in support of our business winning activities. As a Business Apprentice you will be expected to develop a sound level of commercial acumen and awareness of all the key support functions required for the Marshall business to operate successfully. You will develop a strong sense of business ethics, together with a drive to develop competitive bids and proposals that challenge the business and ultimately win business for Marshall. Responsibilities will include: Attending and engaging with training, including exams and 1-2-1 meetings with your tutors, assessors and managers. Managing your time effectively to complete all coursework, assignments and exams required to achieve the apprenticeship. Reflecting on your own practice, behaviours and experience, listen to and act upon feedback received. Carrying out all assigned work in a dutiful and professional manner, enacting and adapting behaviours and communication methods to suit your customers. Maintaining the highest ethical standards. Challenging and questioning the 'why'. Demonstrating a commitment to see the success of any given task. What are we looking for? Entry requirements You must have at least 5 GCSEs at Grade A-C/4-9 (or equivalent) including Mathematics, English Language and ICT. You must have a minimum of 80 UCAS tariff points at Level 3 e.g. A Levels, BTEC (or equivalent). You must not have already completed the qualifications listed above in the apprenticeship section. In order to receive apprenticeship funding you must have the right to work in the UK and meet residency eligibility requirements. You must successfully pass all required medical and security checks if you are offered a place on the apprenticeship programme.
