About the opportunities:
1 x Part time (25.9 Hours) Senior Family Support Worker Post – Permanent: Clifton Locality
The Early Help and Family Engagement Service provide practical help and advice to support families and their children to achieve their full potential. The Service builds on the family's strengths and offers support as problems begin to emerge to prevent issues from getting worse.
The Service supports families with children aged 0-19 years or 25 with a disability and works with the whole family in partnership to identify the best possible solutions to issues that they might be experiencing.
The posts will operate from locality based Early Help & Family Engagement Teams and successful candidates will have the skills and experience to work with children and their families with additional needs.
Successful candidates will have experience in managing a caseload of children and families and be able to effect positive change to reduce risk and need.
The successful candidates will be proficient in the following key duties and areas of responsibility:
1. Considerable experience of engaging with children and families in a range of settings e.g., home visits/ school/ group based/community based, and detailed knowledge of what works to effect positive change for children and families experiencing difficulties.
2. Experience of completing assessments and knowledge of how the Early Help Assessment is embedded in practice as a comprehensive, consent driven, multi-agency, early intervention support mechanism.
3. Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with professionals from a range of agencies and experience of planning support for children and families.
4. Experience of working within a safeguarding environment and knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
5. A motivator of both team members and children and families, helping others to help themselves through practical experience.
6. A strong track record in applying professional boundaries within the supportive relationship.
