We are recruiting a Principal Information Governance Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.
Working hours: 37 hours per week, (7.24 hours Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Penallta House / Working hours can be split between home, school visits and office depending on specific task requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Customer and Digital Services Team and schools within the borough.
We pay an attractive salary of £41,511- £44,711 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
The post holder will be one of two Deputy Data Protection Officers and will undertake the full range of information governance tasks. The post will specialise in managing access to information, appeals and data breach casework with the Information Commissioner, and the Service Level Agreement in place between schools across the County Borough.
The post holder will have full line management responsibility for a small team to support this area of work.

For the role, we ask that you have:
Level 5 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
BCS Data Protection Practitioner Certification or equivalent Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales, or required to achieve in a timescale to be agreed following appointment.
Knowledge of information rights legislation, specifically data protection and freedom of information.
The ability to travel around the County Borough frequently and further afield occasionally.
