Job Title: Land and Development Manager
Location: England - hybrid
We are currently retained by a growing player in the renewable energy sector that is expanding its footprint in the UK. Our client is seeking a passionate and experienced professional to join their team and play a pivotal role in securing land rights for renewable energy projects.
The Role: This position offers the opportunity to take on a key role in land acquisition and project development for solar farms and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The ideal candidate will be responsible for negotiating land options and leases, managing diverse land-related opportunities, and working closely with internal teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects. There will also be elements of business development and networking with land-based partners.
Key Responsibilities:
* Secure land rights for renewable energy projects, including negotiating option agreements, head of terms, easements, and wayleaves.
* Develop and maintain an origination strategy for solar farms and BESS projects.
* Manage relationships with landowners, agents, and consultants to facilitate the successful delivery of projects.
* Collaborate with teams across grid, operations, and planning departments to ensure project success.
* Oversee the front-end development of projects, ensuring alignment with time, cost, and quality goals.
About You:
* 5+ years of experience in land rights negotiation, particularly for renewable energy projects.
* A strong understanding of UK property legislation and renewable energy development processes.
* Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* A degree in Geography, Land Surveying, or a related field is preferred.
