Position Overview:
Seeking an individual interested in working in the recycling and environmental sustainability industry. This position is responsible for providing technical support to the Operation Engineering Manager, with the objective of ensuring plant and equipment functionality and compliance with current legislation. Working in Stalybridge, the successful candidate will work under the supervision of a knowledgeable and supportive Maintenance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist Operations Engineering Manager to develop and implement planned maintenance systems on site.
2. Carry out breakdown repairs to minimise plant downtime.
3. Manage electrical/mechanical contract staff.
4. Assist site SHEC Manager to carry out Risk Assessments.
5. Effect progress on action points raised as a result.
6. Provide technical support to Supervisors in plant operations.
7. Assist in the operation of the site to ensure plant availability and production is maintained at the highest possible level.
8. Assist to make improvements to processes.
9. Assist to improve energy efficiency.
10. Perform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require.
11. Comply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Community.
Key Skills/Competencies
Applicants must have exceptional organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. They will have excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated, flexible and adaptable. The candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills combined with integrity and confidentiality. Good IT skills are required along with the ability to manage time effectively. Candidates will be educated to Approved Electrician standard with the experience of supervising contractors. They will have thorough technical skills with experience of PLC’s, variable speed drives, instrumentation, and installation. Sound knowledge of electrical safety legislation is needed as well as good Mechanical knowledge. Previous experience of working on Shredding and size reduction equipment would be advantageous along with experience of working on Metals and plastics separation equipment, and conveyor transportation systems equipment.
