About the Role
As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for providing clear and relevant financial information and analysis to support business teams in tracking, understanding, forecasting, and effectively controlling costs. You will play a crucial role in ensuring financial performance is aligned with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide regular and ad-hoc financial reports to track and explain operating costs.
2. Support the business team in planning, budgeting, and forecasting financial performance.
3. Develop new tracking reports and analysis to strengthen project cost control and enhance understanding of whole-life costs.
4. Create new ways of capturing and presenting financial and non-financial data (e.g., linking costs to activities, developing performance reports).
5. Offer financial guidance and coaching to business teams, ensuring adherence to financial policies, processes, and controls.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
1. A relevant accountancy qualification, be partway through study, or have equivalent experience.
2. A strong understanding of accounting principles and management accounting techniques.
3. The ability to explain financial concepts in simple terms while understanding business processes and influencing senior stakeholders.
4. Strong analytical skills to interpret cost data, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights.
5. Proficiency in IT tools, particularly Excel, and knowledge of financial systems such as PeopleSoft (or equivalent).
