St Mary’s Church of England VA Primary School is seeking an inspirational Assistant Headteacher whose primary responsibility would be to lead our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage One (KS1) team. This role is perfect for an aspirational middle leader who is passionate about teaching and learning and deeply committed to ensuring that every child has the best start in life.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher to drive school improvement, ensuring that all children flourish both academically and socially. Our ideal Assistant Headteacher will be committed to ensuring successful and aspirational outcomes for all. They will work with our staff and students to cultivate a love of learning and develop enriching environments that enable our children to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Class teaching responsibilities within the above phase
2. Leading Early Reading and Phonics across the school.
3. Support the headteacher with the leadership and management of the school.
4. Support whole school staff development through mentoring and coaching.
5. Provide safeguarding support as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding lead.
6. Establish strong working relationships with children, staff, parents, and external stakeholders.
We are looking for an ambitious leader who is:
1. Passionate about Teaching and Learning and an outstanding practitioner
2. Ambitious, confident, and enthusiastic
3. An experienced EYFS and Key Stage one practitioner
4. Experienced at leading a core area or phase of the curriculum
5. Demonstrates strong communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills
6. Able to motivate and inspire a team.
