We are seeking a commercially focused Senior Account Director to play a critical leadership role in our Glasgow PR team. As the number two to the Glasgow PR Director, you will ensure operational efficiency, drive team performance, and take a lead in developing strong client relationships that contribute to revenue growth.
Beyond day-to-day team and client oversight, you will play a pivotal role in business development, helping to win new clients and expand existing accounts. You will bring a sharp commercial mindset, strong leadership, and a proactive, action-oriented approach to ensure we deliver for our clients while driving the agency’s broader commercial objectives.
The job
Leadership & Team Performance
* Act as the deputy to the Glasgow PR Director, ensuring that the team operates efficiently and effectively while fostering a high-performance culture.
* Lead on people management, coaching, and development, ensuring clear accountability and a strong sense of ownership among team members.
* Champion integration across BIG’s offices and services, driving collaboration between PR, digital, creative, and marketing teams to maximise revenue opportunities.
* Support recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring the Glasgow PR team attracts and retains top talent.
Client Oversight & Growth
* Take senior responsibility for key corporate and consumer accounts, ensuring service levels meet or exceed client expectations.
* Proactively manage client relationships, ensuring we retain and grow our accounts while identifying opportunities to expand our service offering.
* Monitor and improve financial performance of accounts, ensuring projects are delivered profitably and that commercial opportunities are maximised.
Operational Excellence
* Work alongside the Glasgow PR Director to ensure team efficiency, overseeing timesheet management, capacity planning, and resource utilisation.
* Continuously improve internal processes to streamline ways of working while maintaining exceptional service quality.
Business Development & Growth
* Play an active and visible role in winning new business, leading pitches, networking, and securing new client opportunities.
* Drive growth within existing client accounts, identifying and converting new opportunities in collaboration with wider teams.
* Act as a senior voice in industry events, thought leadership, and networking opportunities to elevate BIG’s reputation and attract new business.
The person
You are a seasoned PR professional with strong agency experience at a senior level (AD or SAD+), having successfully led teams and managed high-value client accounts across multiple industries. You have:
* A track record of delivering commercial growth, whether through winning new business, expanding client budgets, or improving account profitability.
* A strategic mindset with the ability to make decisions quickly and manage competing priorities effectively.
* Strong leadership and people management skills, knowing how to get the best from your team while creating an environment of accountability and high performance.
* The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, commercially driven agency environment where client delivery, business growth, and operational efficiency must go hand in hand.
