Position: Hardware Engineer
Location: 5 days in the Office, Derby, Raynesway

You will work within our safety critical hardware development team across all phases of product design lifecycles. The team uses agile SCRUM methods to develop high integrity products adopting the latest state-of-the-art toolsets. Training will be provided where required to equip you with the skills necessary to develop requirements, architectures and designs for controls applications essential for the protection and monitoring of nuclear propulsion plant.
What you'll be doing:
1. Developing high-level hardware design requirements using DOORS
2. Architecting hardware solutions
3. Defining low level requirements and detailed designs
4. Designing circuits, selecting components and capturing schematics
5. Integrating software and programmable hardware onto hardware platforms
6. Defining and carrying out detailed integration testing
7. Developing automated testing procedures
8. Managing change control and configuration management
9. Engaging in problem solving
10. Demonstrating process adherence and solution correctness
11. Engaging in continued improvement of our hardware development process for cost and timescale reduction and quality improvement
12. Supporting process and technical audits, and product design reviews
13. Liaising with software, systems, programmable hardware and safety teams
14. Managing suppliers, including scoping packages of work and reviewing their deliveries
Who we are looking for:
1. Qualified to degree level in Electronics Engineering or related discipline
2. Self-motivated and enthusiastic to become familiar with new techniques and tools
3. Experienced and talented hardware engineer
4. Experienced in digital electronics design
5. Experienced in programmable logic device design
6. Experienced in real-time systems
7. Awareness of safety-critical development constraints (e.g. IEC62566)
