Brief Description
Project Managers Works Delivery work across a track portfolio of Network Rail's Works Delivery renewals, which include Level Crossings (track elements only), S&C and plain line refurbishment/renewals.
About the role (External)
Key Accountabilities:
1. Accountable for delivering a portfolio of first time/right time projects/schemes on track in a safe & environmentally responsible manner while managing cost/volumes and quality.
2. Lead, inspire, direct and develop specialist teams to deliver successful projects.
3. Direct and co-ordinate multi-disciplinary teams to identify cost effective solutions.
4. Lead the identification and monitoring of project risks and implement change control.
5. Responsible for the management of resource planning for current and projected work banks.
6. Engage with and lead stakeholder relationships.
7. Establish and maintain governance arrangements for the delivery of projects.
8. Accountable for the management and implementation of Construction Design Management (CDM) requirements.
9. Manage and update business cases that justify projects.
10. Lead & undertake accident/incident investigations.
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Essential:
* Educated to degree level in track discipline or equivalent demonstrable experience.
* Member of the Association for Project Management or equivalent.
* In depth knowledge and 5 - 10 years of experience of Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
* Successful record of project budget management.
* Experience in managing ambiguity in a project environment.
* Demonstrable safety management practice in project delivery.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
* Experience in Accident/Incident Investigation.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of Investment, Commercial and Procurement regulations.
* Formal qualifications in risk identification and assessment.
* Team player with willingness to learn and challenge.
* Knowledge of Network Rail's assets.
To be successful in this role we also require:
* 5 - 10 years experience in a project environment.
* Experience in managing ambiguity in a project environment.
* Must be an experienced PTS holder.
* Experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams.
* 5 - 10 years experience in the Rail Industry Sector.
* Holder of a driving licence and ability to get to remote sites.
* OnCall every 1 in 4 weeks.
