About the role:
As a Senior Performance Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our fintech platform operates at peak efficiency, handling high-throughput transactions with minimal latency. Your work will directly impact system scalability, reliability, and user experience by designing and implementing performance testing strategies from the ground up.
You will build a leading-edge performance testing framework from scratch, integrate it into CI/CD pipelines, and set ambitious benchmarks that drive our platform's growth. You’ll work with top-tier development teams to identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks, ensuring our systems can scale with the demands of a fast-moving fintech landscape.
Join us remotely; you can be located anywhere around the CET time zone, as our work is 100% offline. The position is full-time.

Additionally, our goal is to increase our activity as a market maker on centralized exchanges and expand into decentralized markets.
In this role, you will:
1. Design, implement, and maintain an automated performance testing framework for high-throughput, low-latency financial systems
2. Conduct performance testing (load, stress, scalability, endurance, and spike testing) to ensure system stability under real-world conditions
3. Analyze system performance, detect bottlenecks (CPU, memory, network), and suggest optimizations
4. Profile and optimize API latency to meet high-performance computing (HPC) standards
5. Ensure resilience and high availability (99.99%+ uptime) by testing failure recovery mechanisms
6. Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation
7. Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and SRE teams to align performance goals and optimize system performance
8. Set up monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenTelemetry) for real-time performance insights
9. Conduct regression testing daily and post-release to detect performance degradations
What we expect from you:
1. 5+ years of experience in performance testing, automation, and system optimization
2. Strong understanding of distributed systems, fault tolerance, and high availability
3. Hands-on experience with performance testing asynchronous workflows, messaging queues, and event-driven architectures
4. Proficiency in scripting & automation using (one of them) Java, Groovy, Kotlin, or Scala
5. Expertise in profiling & debugging API latency and system performance
6. Experience in financial services / HFT / algorithmic trading is a big plus
7. Familiarity with backtesting frameworks or market simulations is a significant advantage
8. Knowledge of chaos testing and failure injection testing (Bonus)
