Role Overview We are seeking an Accounts and Tax Semi-Senior to join our clients growing team. This role has a 70% focus on personal tax and a 30% focus on accounts, making it ideal for someone with a strong interest in tax compliance and advisory, while maintaining a solid grounding in accounts preparation. Key Responsibilities Personal Tax (70%) Prepare and submit self-assessment tax returns for a range of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, sole traders, and company directors. Assist with tax planning and advisory for individuals, including capital gains tax, rental income, and dividend tax planning. Handle HMRC queries and correspondence regarding personal tax matters. Support clients with PAYE coding notices, tax refunds, and National Insurance matters. Stay updated with tax legislation changes and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements. Accounts (30%) Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. Assist with VAT returns and bookkeeping when required. Work with senior team members to ensure smooth preparation and submission of financial statements. Liaise with clients to obtain necessary financial information and resolve queries. Key Requirements Part-qualified ACCA / ACA / ATT / AAT, or qualified by experience. 2 years of experience in an accountancy practice. Strong experience in personal tax compliance (self-assessments, tax planning, and HMRC dealings). Some experience in accounts preparation and VAT returns. Proficiency in tax and accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, IRIS, or TaxCalc). Strong communication skills and ability to build client relationships.
