The Musculoskeletal Service Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin brings together partner organisations across the county, including Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust, Shrewsbury & Telford Hospitals and the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, to provide quality care to patients with musculoskeletal concerns within the population of Shropshire.
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated MSK professional to lead the advanced practice team (MSST level 3) in conjunction with our SEM consultant, GP with Extended role in MSK and the Clinical service manager. You will be working closely with Therapies at level 2 and engaging closely with system partners who co-deliver MSST services.
The post-holder will promote and support the strategic development of integrated musculoskeletal services across the health economy, working in partnership with senior clinicians from other specialities, managers, STW ICS, and other provider organisations to continuously improve the patient journey.
In this role the AHP Consultant will combine expert clinical practice with research, education and strategic leadership. The focus of the role fluctuates based on the needs of the service, with clinical time approximating 50% as a minimum.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will work to bring together colleagues to develop, facilitate and oversee education, audit and research to promote best practice, in collaboration with local universities.
In this role you will lead on the development and implementation of quality standards for effectiveness of patient care within the MSK teams working across the organisation, ensuring that these are continually monitored and improved and work with system partners to achieve standardisation in MSST.
The post-holder will work with system partners to ensure that the service is reviewed, planned, developed and delivered in line and in response to the current and projected priorities of the Trust, ICS and relevant National priorities.
