We are looking for someone to visit our multiple care homes around the UK to complete audits, including health & safety and fire safety to then create an action plan for each home. Experience Essential Proven track record of Health & Safety Management in a large / complex organisation in care Extensive and up to date knowledge and practical application of health and safety management systems and the principles and practice of risk assessment processes. Strong working knowledge of RIDDOR Understanding and proven track record of incident investigation, learning and improvement Proven record of the identification and control of workplace hazards Experience of Health & Safety auditing and inspection Desirable Experience of Emergency Planning practices and techniques. Experience of specialised requirements for care home environments Training & Qualifications Essential Qualified to degree level, honours degree or Vocational qualification level 6 or an equivalent level of knowledge in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent; Desirable Chartered membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health Experience in Emergency Planning Communication Essential Excellent written and verbal communications skills Aptitude to communicate complex information to colleagues in a clear and precise manner Analytical and Judgement Essential Ability to analyse information, organisational processes and projects within the context of Health and Safety; recommending the best course of action for the Homes Planning and Organisation Essential Ability to work to, negotiate and co-ordinate deadlines in a variety of teams to meet local, home and National targets Good time management skills including the ability to prioritise, plan and manage a large workload Physical Skills Essential Ability to work in a variety of environments some of which may be unpleasant Ability to work at a computer Ability to travel between campuses and to other external organisations as required What are the Tangible benefits for working for Harbour?
