About the Role
Connex Education is working with a large number of primary schools in Alfreton and surrounding areas, and are seeking Teaching Assistants for day-to-day and long-term cover work.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be directly involved in supporting students towards their full potential.
We are looking for energetic and engaging Teaching Assistants to join the team and make a difference to the pupils.
We have both full-time and part-time options available, with shifts to suit your needs.
Your role can vary depending on the specific needs of the school, teacher, and students, but generally includes:
* Classroom Support: TAs assist teachers with classroom management by helping to supervise students, maintain order, and ensure a positive learning environment.
* Instructional Assistance: They may work with individual students or small groups to reinforce lessons taught by the teacher, provide additional explanations, or offer extra practice on assignments.
* Resource Preparation: TAs often help prepare teaching materials, such as visual aids, worksheets, or other resources needed for lessons.
* Administrative Tasks: They may assist with administrative duties such as taking attendance, grading assignments, and organizing classroom materials.
* Special Needs Support: TAs often work closely with students who have special educational needs or disabilities, providing personalized assistance and accommodations to help them succeed academically and socially.
* Behavioral Support: TAs help implement behavior management strategies and support students in developing positive social skills.
* Communication: They may communicate with parents or caregivers to provide updates on student progress, behavior, and any concerns.
* Assessment: TAs may assist teachers in assessing student performance by administering tests, quizzes, or other assessments and recording results.

Person Specification
* You must have previous experience either working in a school or with young people.
* All applicants must have a Level 2 in Teaching and Learning or be working towards this.
* You must have a current enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to provide a new one.
* Be able to provide references for all work in the last 2 years.
