Description Overview We are looking for a Health & Safety and Facilities Assistant to join our team based at our Portbury Shared User Site. This is a key role to administer the daily activity of the site within the guidelines of Wincanton policy and work alongside the site teams to ensure we are all working to the same standard How will you contribute? • Responsible for the administration of all documents and necessary paperwork • In close liaison with line management and the customer, you will build and ensure an excellent record of maintaining a positive Health & Safety culture. • Work closely with managers and other accountable personnel. • To assist the manager in keeping consistent and effective levels of Health & Safety communication are achieved within the contract. • To assist with the implementation and compliance with Group SHEQ policies. (Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality). • To prepare packs for presentation of data and results of findings • To conduct regular safety checks and safety tours daily, demonstrating an active commitment to safety. • To keep the training matrix up to date, notifying people when training is required or amended. • To take part and review the quality of investigations to ensure all are fully investigated and remedial actions are tracked and performed in a timely manner. • To attend Health & Safety group meetings, whilst encouraging and supporting the safety action teams. • To organize and schedule monthly meetings with the on-site management team and Health and Safety representatives. • Assist and be part of unobtrusive checks where necessary. • Liaise and ensure any escalations have the involvement of your line manager, • To assist with and track the loading standards on the contract • Manage the matrix for the contracts Risk assessments / SSOW ensuring they are reviewed by the team and updated so we remain compliant within the contract. • To make the best use of Wincanton HSE systems such as `Webrisk` & ‘EcoOnline` • To assist with the internal audit preparation to ensure that the contract understands and meets the requirements for corporate and customer audits.
