JUNIOR GARMENT TECHNOLOGIST (MENSWEAR)
MANCHESTER CITY CENTRE
£18 - £25K
Our client, a successful menswear fashion brand based in Manchester city centre, is looking to recruit a Junior Garment Technologist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Fashion Technology and at least 6 months of placement experience in a Garment Tech role, working with Tech Packs, garment construction, and overseas suppliers.
Responsibilities:
* Work closely with designers and directors to develop branded products that are fit for purpose.
* Assist with measuring and providing feedback on samples across menswear and accessories.
* Check submissions from factories, including lab dips, fabric, and print submissions.
* Ensure products meet safety standards and testing requirements.
* Follow a critical path to ensure smooth development and on-time ex-factory dates.
* Communicate with factories to keep production on track.
* Conduct QC checks during production and provide feedback to factories.
* Organize samples, archive old samples, and manage submission files.
* Support in managing the brand returns log.
* Participate in fit sessions and advise on fit issues.
This role is based at the head office and offers an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to develop from initial design to final product landing online. The candidate should be organized, proactive, and able to work closely with the design team. There is room for progression within the role.
Requirements:
* Fashion and technical qualification to degree level.
* 1-2 years of experience in a similar fast-paced environment.
* Flexibility to travel, including trips to warehouses and overseas factories.
* Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
* Understanding of garment construction, grading, and grade rules.
* Organized with a proactive approach.
* Full clean UK driving license and valid passport.
