About The Role
JOB PURPOSE:
Deliver procurement category excellence, lead, and provide procurement expertise in sourcing, contract and productivity to support a resilient supply chain strategy. Drive continuous improvement in procurement by optimise category cost saving and avoidance opportunities, consolidate tail spend, maximise value in quality and overall service level from supply base.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic category strategy for procurement
- Identify strategic spend, develop long term contractual business relationship with key strategic suppliers
- Consolidate tail spend of specific supply category, maximise value
- Identify overall business risks from existing suppliers and develop risk mitigation plan to limit and eliminate the risks
- Support Procurement scheduling team in escalation of matter regards overall delivery performance from suppliers
- Support Quality in escalation of quality performance from Suppliers
- Negotiate best value possible with own suppliers and support negotiation of the team when required
- Escalate appropriate matters in a timely manner to procurement manager
- Accountable for category productivity initiation and implementation, record and report result in a timely manner
- Actively support sourcing of new product and supplier to support business success
- Work closely with procurement project team in terms of keeping category team updated on new and priority projects, as well as feedback supply chain opportunities and constraints in a timely manner
- Work closely with Category specialist to ensure commodity cost down is benefited and reflected in negative PPV (purchase price variance), vice versa combat cost increase by utilising commodity historical data and future trend.
- Carry out supplier audit in conjunction with quality team
- Carry out appropriate supplier view in formal and professional setting with results recorded on SharePoint
- Provide appropriate demand forecast to supply base and feedback on capacity constraints
- Continually challenge and improve upon current practices and procedures.
- Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Supervise category team personnel, including carrying out performance appraisals and objectives setting in line with the overall procurement team and company objectives and strategy
- Help develop Category team member, elevate each other.
- Live up to and promote CDE values and culture
- Apply the minimum quality and environmental standards required under ISO 9001 and 14001 and the company Quality and Environmental standards
- Day to day procurement activities as required.
- Any other appropriate tasks that the company requires.

Desired Criteria
* •Part CIPS qualified or similar
* •Experience with IFS system
* • Solid understanding of technical products and services, including specifications, industry standards, and quality requirements
* •Good manufacturing processes awareness
Required Criteria
* •Educated to degree level in engineering, supply chain management or business-related discipline.
* •Minimum 3 years’ experience in a purchasing function in a manufacturing environment
* •Experience of working with a modern ERP/MRP 2 system
* •Proficient with Microsoft office software
* •Well organised
* •Good interpersonal skills
* •Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers
* •The ability to communicate effectively in writing, orally, and through presentations
* •Ability to work unsupervised and plan own workload
* •Ability to adapt changes
