Learning Technician - Construction Ref: 2425/080 Hours: 37 hours per week Salary: £24,347. Plus generous benefits including: • 45 days annual leave per year (including bank holidays and efficiency closures) • Generous Occupational Pension Scheme About the role An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our construction team as a Learning Technician here at York College. A construction background is preferable, however not essential due to the multiple areas that this role covers. You will spend much of your time in Stonemasonry; however, this role will be spread across other areas within construction and training will be provided. The role will involve preparing tools, equipment, and resources for students on study programs and apprenticeship standards. You will be required to monitor and lead on the supervision of workshops, including health and safety systems and processes. You will have a keen eye for general housekeeping procedures which sets high expectations for colleagues and students. You will work closely with the Curriculum and Standards Manager, Team Leaders and others in the team to establish a ‘just in time’ order process of materials and supplies. About the Person You will have strong work ethic and ideally, experience of construction practices. A desire to help the team and students and drive health and safety is also essential. You should be self-motivated and able to work with young people in a supportive and instructive manner. You will have a flexible approach and be able to work as part of a team, supporting the quality of teaching and learning and work closely with teaching staff. You will be required to complete forklift training either prior to starting the role or within one month (unless you already hold a training certificate for this). This role will also require training on the stone saw. This role is open to internal and external candidates.
