Bridge Recruitment is helping an established client recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to join their expanding team.
Location: Scarborough
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 per year
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm
Responsibilities of the Quality Engineer
1. Define quality requirements for internal and externally manufactured items.
2. Design and implement effective inspection procedures in cooperation with design & manufacturing departments.
3. Manage and maintain the calibration system in accordance with ISO9001.
4. Manage non-conforming material through the company's quality management system procedures.
5. Generate monthly quality and non-quality data and reports.
6. Develop quality control systems in line with company procedures and accreditation requirements.
7. Investigate customer complaints.
8. Manage requests related to products through the complaint database.
9. Manage and document standard work as directed.
10. Produce certificates of conformity and related customer documentation.
11. Provide training and support on quality topics to staff.
12. Undertake specific projects as assigned.
13. Monitor key suppliers and address non-conformance proactively.
14. Conduct supplier audits and internal ISO9001 quality audits.
Requirements for the Quality Engineer
1. Understanding of quality control systems.
2. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and galvanisation processes (desired).
3. Good analytical skills.
4. Practical problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
6. Ability to work under pressure and in teams or independently.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Teams.
8. Willingness to undertake additional training.
9. Flexibility to work at different sites and travel to suppliers as needed.
