Pay Rate: £19.01 per hour
Hours : Monday to Friday, 45 hours week.
Working predominantly within one of six regions, you will be utilised to cover any vacancies, holiday, training, etc. of the branch lorry loader and tanker drivers. This is a varied role that will require nights away and weekend travel, depending on appointment.
As a Logistics Relief Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the fleet maintains full utilisation, transporting our modular structures, and temporary storage & accommodation units on one of the fleets of over 70 lorry loader cranes. You will also be required to work within the Tanker team servicing customer’s welfare requirements.
Responsibilities:
1. Deliver products and services to customers on time, in full (OTIF), effectively reporting any issues as they arise.
2. Adhere to planned routes / movement orders.
3. Optimise loading and unloading times to ensure all work is completed.
4. Ensure any requirements for moving abnormal loads are always met.
5. Schedule loading and delivery times, and customer requirements.
6. Operate a lorry loader crane in varying environments and conditions.
7. Work within the Tanker team executing customer service calls.
8. Complete the relevant safety checks on the vehicle and equipment you’ve been allocated, reporting any issues immediately, ensuring fleet and safety compliance.
9. Adhere to EU driving hours and Working Times Regulations (WTD) at all times, targeting zero infringements.
Requirements:
10. Valid Class 1 HGV Driving Licence, with DCPC
11. Previous experience in operating a lorry loader crane from 31 tonne and above/up to 66 tonnes.
12. Previous experience operating a wagon and drag combination.
13. Previous tanker / waste management experience, desired, but not essential, as training will be provided.
14. CPCS and/or ALLMI lorry loader operator qualification
15. Flexible and willing to meet the needs of the business.
16. Able to work in a team building positive relationships with colleagues and external providers.
17. Be passionate advocate of absolute safety.
18. Be driven to provide exceptional customer service, putting the customer at the heart of everything we do.
19. Demonstrate flexibility, as appointments may require you to be away from home throughout the working week, driving all types of vehicles at any of our locations. These appointments may change with limited notice, in line with business or operational needs.
