Job summary We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated Band 6 Junior Sister/ Charge nurse to join our team on Ward East 2B on a permanent basis. Ward East 2B at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital is a 24 bedded ward, specialising in looking after older acute patients living with frailty and other comorbidities. As a Junior Sister/ Charge Nurse you will be expected to support the management structure to provide a consistently high standard of nursing practice with particular emphasis on quality and clinical standards. We are looking for a nurse with the skills to thrive within a friendly environment with the ability to cope under pressure, who is keen to pursue a leadership role. The role will include days, nights and weekend working where you would deputise for the ward manager and take charge of the ward. Main duties of the job To work as the deputy to the Ward/Department Manager in the coordination of all ward activities. To supervise junior staff on duty To take charge of a shift To ensure Trust standards of care are maintained To participate in staff sickness and absence procedures, off duty and HR issues that may arise.
