Structural Engineer Consultant: Supporting the UK's Net Zero Strategy
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in the South West of England. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC), contributing to the design and delivery of high-quality steelwork structures.
Key Responsibilities
* Design Support: Participate in the design of steelwork structures, ensuring compliance with Civil and Mechanical Nuclear Standards
* CAD Design: Collaborate with designers in preparing design drawings and models
* Project Coordination: Manage engineering changes, liaising with concrete structures, pipes, electrical, and ventilation interfaces design management teams
* Stakeholder Management: Communicate with stakeholders, including design offices, construction teams, and project management
* Technical Documentation: Develop technical documents to support delivery
* Team Development: Contribute to the development of other Vulcain staff through participation in technical communities
Requirements
* Qualifications: Master's degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical engineering (or equivalent)
* Experience: Senior/principal level experience in detailed design of Steel Structures
* Skills: Chartership status or actively undergoing the process of attaining Chartership through a recognised international body; proficiency in Robot / Rstab / STAAD Pro (or similar software); knowledge of Civil Standards (Eurocodes / ETC-C / RCC-CW)
