Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research.
The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington, and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.
We are seeking to appoint a MDA Coordinator/Patient Pathway Administrator to join our Community Paediatric team at Oxford Children's Hospital. This post is crucial to the ongoing development of the services and would suit a candidate who has excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be expected to liaise with staff and colleagues at all levels.
Main duties of the job
1. Ensure that all referrals for the Multidisciplinary Assessment (MDA) are managed using the comprehensive departmental database to record all key information regarding forthcoming assessments and current waiting times.
2. Liaise closely with families to co-ordinate appointments, answer questions regarding the process and ensure that they are well supported in line with Trust values.
3. Liaise with a wide range of professionals from within the Trust and outside to ensure that assessments are completed with all key information collated.
4. Link closely with the consultant lead for MDAs to consider any changes and developments necessary to the smooth and efficient running of the service.
5. Attend and organise weekly panel meetings ensuring meetings are recorded, take minutes and send out action points to relevant staff.
6. Work closely with the Child Protection and Adoption and Fostering coordinator offering support and cross cover when required.
Person specification
* GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, grades A-C
* Good knowledge of patient pathways/understanding of patient priorities and performance targets
* Experience of using a full range of IT systems including; Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel
* Maintains high standards and quality of work
* Organising, planning and prioritising skills
* Accurate data entry, typing and checking skills
* Thorough knowledge of healthcare administrative systems and processes
* EPR Experience
* In-depth understanding of Medical Terminology
* Effective minute taking
