The Planet Group have recently been engaged by a well-renowned Government Institution who are currently seeking a HR Workday Lead to join the team in Richmond on a permanent basis.
The role will serve as the HR Workday lead, ensuring the system is optimized and fits the organization’s needs. They will mentor Workday Leads within the People, Inclusion, and Change directorate and enhance organisational capability in using the system.
Role & Responsibilities: HR System Management & Development:
* Lead Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), ensuring efficient daily operations and alignment with long-term business needs.
* Define and manage people-related elements of the system development pipeline, working with Finance and IT to plan, develop, and monitor system features.
* Document HR processes to support user training and change control.
* Ensure HR data security and GDPR compliance in collaboration with IT.
* Lead biannual HCM releases, coordinating planning, testing, and implementation of required and optional features.
* Oversee system resources across People, Inclusion, and Change teams, aligning with HCM development priorities.
* Stay current on Workday updates, leveraging external networks and resources.
* Lead people-related system projects, collaborating with stakeholders for successful outcomes.
Collaboration & Capability Building:
* Work with external stakeholders (e.g., Workday) to resolve system issues and drive development.
* Manage system queries, seek user feedback, and chair Workday Champions meetings to enhance engagement.
* Develop and maintain system guides and collaborate on communication strategies for staff engagement.
* Supervise Workday Leads in Learning, Talent Acquisition, and HR Operations, providing training and coaching.
* Identify and implement system enhancements based on internal feedback and needs.
* Ensure People, Inclusion, and Change priorities are reflected in broader systems activities.
Reporting & Data Analysis:
* Create and produce HR metrics reports and dashboards for strategic decision-making.
* Tailor reporting to senior stakeholders’ needs, providing data insights and analysis to support workforce planning and risk management.
* Ensure timely submission of statutory reports, including Gender Pay Gap and other HR data returns.
* Continuously improve data accuracy, reporting processes, and insights.
* Expert knowledge in configuring and optimizing Workday HCM, with relevant IT experience or degree.
* Strong analytical, numerate, and IT skills, with experience in data manipulation and reporting.
* Ability to present technical data in a clear, engaging way for non-technical audiences.
* Knowledge of HR functions and the employee lifecycle within Workday systems.
