To support the organisation and co-ordination of the Diabetes and Endocrinology administrative service, with specific responsibility for the Diabetes and Endocrine cross site Secretarial team in addition to taking a lead role for the services 18 week and Cancer MDT coordinators.
Ensuring that resources are deployed effectively to provide a high standard of service, provide daily administration service co-ordination, focusing on utilisation, Cancer and 18 week targets and general service targets, ensuring patients are being managed in accordance with the Trust Access Policy.
Main duties of the job
* Ensure staff across the department book patients in within the national Cancer and 18 week Referral to Treatment Target (RTT)
* Ensure activity is clinically prioritised and managed within the national Cancer waiting times and 18 week RTT
* Take a lead role to ensure Cancer and MDT Pathways are maintained to deliver safe and timely patient pathways, to ensure good patient outcomes.
* Take responsibility for the monitoring of the 18 week validation / data errors / data quality reports.
* Be a point of contact for secretarial team
* Ensure we are working towards and achieving typing and ATRS management targets

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Degree in a relevant subject or a combination of vocational qualifications at level 4, additional training, and short courses (eg ECDL, ILM) that equate to level 5.
* Relevant vocational management and leadership qualifications or training courses demonstrating a proven track of record of commitment to learning and development
* Educated to A Level standard or equivalent qualification or proven equivalent experience with any other educational qualifications a distinct advantage
* 5 GCSEs including Mathematics and English (Grade C or above)
Experience
* Previous experience either in a Medical Secretary role or managing Medical Secretaries
* Experience of working within a complex multi-disciplinary NHS environment and planning healthcare services
* Comprehensive understanding of procedures and policies for Patient Administration System or similar patient administrative system
* Experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with healthcare professional, medical and administrative staff
* Experience of managing information, sharing and analysing data
* Experience of training others
* Experience of managing a waiting list

Salary
£29,970 to £36,483 a year pro rata for part time staff
