The Ministry of Defence Police (MDP) Engagement team sits within the wider MDP People Team and is responsible for providing a smooth onboarding experience for all staff, providing development opportunities as well as implementing 9 box grid process.
The key responsibilities for this role are as follows:
Engagement:
Develop comprehensive communication and engagement plans and implement them to ensure talent initiatives land well across the organisation and are adopted.
Identify areas of improvement in processes throughout the staff lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding.
Planning and implementation of orientation training days for new staff.
The development, co-ordination and management of strategic intervention(s) based on the results of exit interviews and surveys.
Responsible for staff engagement survey through the relevant HR tool, including negotiations with the vendor and budget allocation.
Development:
Responsible for the successful implementation of 9 Box Grid processes for MDP leaders, ensuring effective engagement with staff associations.
Responsible for developing and implementing a career development and talent management strategy for the MDP supporting all line managers and employees.
General:
Manage the team to ensure deadlines are being met.
Responsible for design and coordination of HR Projects.
Keeping abreast of the latest trends driving HR practices and innovations.
Update and maintain databases, spreadsheets, and filing systems. Carry out ad-hoc administrative tasks and research in support of the wider team.
Leading by example as a role model for MDP’s values and professional standards.
Initiating continuous improvement in your own areas of responsibility.
Taking a proactive approach to risk management, ensuring any risks and issues reported and, where appropriate, escalated.
Being aware of and actively complying with College of Policing (COP) policies and procedures relevant to your own responsibilities and to corporate policies and procedures including equality, sustainability and the environment, health and safety and data protection.
Performing any other reasonable duties as directed by line management.
