Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised General Manager to join our team. This role involves managing accounts, maintaining financial records, and assisting with property management for a small portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage accounts, including reviewing and processing invoices and reconciling statements.
2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
3. Prepare and analyse financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements.
4. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
5. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
6. Provide support during audits or tax filings.
7. Support the director with other ad-hoc duties as needed.
8. Process monthly payroll.
9. Liaise with contractors, vendors, and maintenance staff to ensure timely repairs and services.
10. Assist in the recruitment and training of maintenance staff.
11. Conduct regular inspections to ensure properties are well-maintained and compliant with safety standards.
12. Develop and implement maintenance schedules.
13. Manage and coordinate all maintenance activities for a portfolio of properties.
14. Respond to maintenance requests from tenants and address concerns promptly.
Qualifications:
1. Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
4. Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
5. Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
6. Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
7. Proficient in using Sage accounting software, Brightpay, and MS Office Suite.
8. Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Own car essential, as some travel will be required.
11. Flexible approach to hours and days worked.

Pay: £17.00-£18.00 per hour
