Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer
Location: Derby (Derbyshire, East Midlands)
Salary: £40,000 - £65,000 per annum
Hybrid Working: 3 Days onsite, 2 Days WFH

Salary and Working Conditions:
The salary for the successful candidate is £40,000 - £65,000 per annum. The role offers 3 days working onsite and 2 days WFH, with the option to work 5 days onsite if preferred.
The Role:
The ideal Embedded Software Engineer will have a strong background in Embedded Software Programming in C and FPGA VHDL development for embedded systems. Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and maintaining embedded software for high-end technology-based engineering products. This role involves teamwork with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions.
Key Skills Required:
1. 3-5+ years minimum industry experience
2. Embedded Software Programming in C
3. Experience with VHDL for hardware description and FPGA development
4. Knowledge of both analogue and digital hardware
5. Experience with real-time embedded systems, NIOS II softcore processor, DSP algorithms, and techniques
6. Familiarity with compilers: GNU Compiler Collection, ARM Compiler, IAR Embedded Workbench
7. Experience with debuggers: GNU Debugger, JTAG, J-Link, TRACE32
8. Proficient in IDEs: Eclipse, Keil µVision, Visual Studio, MPLAB X
9. Experience with application-level programming languages such as Python, Visual C, Rust, etc.
10. Good teamwork and communication skills
Benefits Package:
Normal holiday entitlement is 26 days plus bank holidays per year, including office closure days over the Christmas period. Pension scheme with an 8% contribution (3% from the employer and 5% from the employee). Discretionary bonus scheme of 5% of salary. Following the probationary period, we provide:

Working Hours:
Normal hours of work equate to 37.5 hours per week. The company operates flexitime with core hours between 9.00 am and 3.45 pm (3.00 pm on Fridays).
