Morson are looking for a storesperson for their client BAE Systems in Portsmouth.
The role loan is a critical component of the Warship Support operations delivery team. Holding an equipment inventory in excess of 2.5 million pounds, we are responsible for the purchasing, setting up, testing, and maintenance of all the loan tool service equipment. We hold a range of over 1100 different tooling items. We issue over 2000 items of equipment every month via counter services at 3 locations, plus a delivery service around the base to workshops and ships. All loan equipment is barcoded, allocated to user accounts, and monitored by an asset tracking system allowing the team to know who and where items are being used and as necessary recall for mandated testing and maintenance.
Core Duties
Typical duties include (but are not limited to):
1. Support the Loan Tool Service team lead in delivering an efficient and timely service.
2. Visibly demonstrate commitment to Health & Safety performance and improvement by actively engaging with team members to raise awareness of any issues or indeed safe behaviours and attitudes. Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained.
3. Undertake all aspects of the loan tool service to include issue, receipt, stocktaking, reconciliation, and consolidation.
4. Undertake tasks in line with published procedures to ensure compliance and stock accuracy is maintained.
5. Use initiative to resolve customer requests and queries, taking appropriate action to satisfy requirements.
6. Ensure all work is actioned in a timely manner.
7. Be part of the team who provide a delivery and collection service for customers base wide by driving the department vehicle.
8. Be flexible and confident enough to support the service by operating the satellite outstations, at times working on your own.
9. Ensure all tools and equipment in the inventory are kept clean, fit for purpose and in date for testing, inspection and or calibration.
10. Support the tool technicians by identifying damages, issues or missing components acting accordingly.
Shift Patterns
Two shift patterns: 7.30am - 4.15pm and 6.00am - 2.00pm; flexibility is required.
Requirements
Driving Licence is required.
