Teaching Personnel is seeking KS3 English and Maths Tutors in Harlow to deliver targeted academic support to students with a variety of needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

Role Overview:
You’ll work with learners on a 1:1 or small group basis, delivering tailored English and Maths sessions in a range of settings—such as homes, care placements, or local libraries. Many of these learners may be out of mainstream education and require structured, compassionate support to re-engage with learning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned tuition sessions
2. Adapt lessons to support learners with diverse needs, including:
1. SEN needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), or Global Developmental Delay (GDD)
2. SEMH needs such as Emotional-Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and anxiety-related difficulties
3. Support students with challenging behaviour in a calm, patient, and positive manner
4. Assess learning using Ed Place and record progress on our LEAP platform
5. Communicate safeguarding concerns
What We’re Looking For:
1. At least 2 years’ experience teaching or tutoring the UK curriculum
2. Confidence in lesson planning and creating individualised teaching resources
3. Proven experience supporting students with SEN, SEMH, and behavioural needs
4. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and resilience
5. A calm, adaptable approach to working in a range of learning environments
