Description Grade UE06: £33,882 to £39,105 per annum, pro rata School of GeoSciences / College of Science & Engineering Part time: between 21 to 24 hours per week Fixed term: for a minimum of 7 months The Opportunity: The Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN) Secretariat is seeking to recruit maternity cover for the post of SSN Communications Officer. Based in the Edinburgh Climate Change Institute at the University of Edinburgh, the successful candidate will join the SSN Secretariat to develop and deliver a range of SSN communications, events and member services. SSN is Scotland’s public sector network on sustainability and climate change. The SSN Communications Officer leads on the development and delivery of key activities including the monthly SSN Newsletter, SSN resources and reports, SSN website updates and developments, and providing communications support for SSN events and members meetings. We are open to flexible working patterns. The maternity cover post is available currently up to 31 st July 2025, with the possibility of extension to the end of 2025 depending on funding being confirmed. The salary for this post is £33,882 to £39,105 per annum pro rata. Your skills and attributes for success: Knowledge of and interest in sustainability and climate change issues, and the work of Scotland’s public bodies; Skilled and experienced in producing and publishing newsletters using Mailchimp and/or DotMailer; Skilled and experience in the development and updating of websites using CMS platforms; Skilled an experienced in organising and coordinating the communications aspects of events, workshops and meetings; Skilled and experienced in producing resources, content and communications that help support professionals and build knowledge and capacity.
