A leading FMCG Food Manufacturer is currently seeking a Departmental Engineering Manager to join their team, This will be a 6month contract but could be extended.
This role will lead a large engineering team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and look at process improvements.
Engineering Manager responsibilities include:
1. Ensure Delivery of the engineering support across a 24/7 manufacturing site daily, support and coach engineering teams in meeting department standards.
2. Support the positive development of the site HS & E culture, promote ownership, ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements within area of control.
3. Delivery of the site engineering strategy. Manage and deliver to agreed KPI’s. Strive to achieve ‘best in class’ standards.
4. Lead, motivate, coach others, delegating effectively to develop a sense of pride and ownership in team performance and engineering strategy.
5. Analyse performance information and ability to communicate confidently, clearly and concisely to team and senior managers.
6. Make full use of digital systems to assist in making focussed commercial decisions regarding optimising plant performance
7. Manage the Teams 1 to 1’s and development plans.
8. Close out engineering related non-conformances across the department, determine root cause, effectively implemented actions to avoid repeatable occurrences
9. Ensure the Lead Engineers support the Engineering element of the daily operations meeting, providing a thorough review of the previous 24 hours and the next 24-hour plans.
10. Deliver the site daily review meeting,
11. Identify, lead and implement continuous improvement opportunities
12. Manage and own small projects that improve the departments KPI’s and assets performance.
13. Deputise in the absence of the Head of Engineering and be the first point of call for escalation outside of lead engineer
You will be an Engineering Manager with an FMCG Food Manufacturing background with a specific understanding of the requirements of Health and Safety Regulations/Legislation directly relating to engineering. This role will require someone with proven leadership skills and who is highly PC literate
