We are now seeking a dynamic General Manager & Business Lead to spearhead new customer acquisition, drive business development, and foster long-term relationships with existing clients, particularly within the government and corporate sectors.
Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales:
1. Lead the strategy and execution of new business sales to expand our customer base across SMEs and government bodies.
2. Identify and target high-potential clients in both public and private sectors, focusing on their AV and IT service needs.
3. Develop proposals and solutions that align with client objectives, demonstrating technical and commercial expertise.
4. Deliver against set revenue and profitability targets, driving company growth through proactive sales and business development efforts.
Account Management & Client Relations:
1. Serve as the primary relationship manager for existing clients, including large corporate accounts and government organizations.
2. Manage and grow long-term partnerships by delivering a high level of service and understanding their evolving needs.
3. Work with technical teams to ensure seamless delivery of AV and IT services, acting as a bridge between client needs and technical execution.
4. Upsell and cross-sell additional services to existing customers, boosting retention and revenue growth.
Design & Consultation:
1. Provide expertise in AV systems design or IT infrastructure, ensuring solutions are tailored to meet client-specific requirements.
2. Stay current with industry trends in AV/IT technology to deliver forward-thinking and efficient solutions.
3. Act as the business lead, working closely with senior management to shape and execute company growth strategies.
4. Mentor and manage junior staff, including sales and account management teams, helping them achieve their targets.
5. Contribute to strategic planning by identifying new market opportunities, risks, and trends in the AV/IT services industry.
Key Requirements:
1. Proven Experience in AV/IT Sales: A minimum of 5+ years in sales or business development roles within the AV/IT sector, with a strong track record of delivering against targets.
2. Expertise in Solution Selling: Previous experience designing and delivering IT solutions, including technical understanding of IT products and services.
3. Account Management Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage large corporate and government accounts, with experience in upselling and relationship management.
4. Knowledge of SME Market: Familiarity with the challenges and opportunities within the SME market, ideally in a Managed IT Services environment.
5. Government & Public Sector Engagement: Experience working with large government clients (e.g., Fire Services, Police Services, Schools) is essential.
6. Location: Glasgow-based with flexibility for occasional home working, though the role will require regular in-person engagement with clients and team members.
