Chemical Production Manager – Specialty Chemicals for Coatings, Adhesives & Construction
Salary: £45,000 to £60,000 Basic Salary, Car, phone, tablet, private healthcare, pension and many other amazing benefits.
Location: Northern territory (North Wales-Stoke-North Derbyshire-North Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire upwards)
About Us:
We are a leading independent distributor of chemicals based in the UK, distributing for major chemical companies and stocking thousands of products in various packaging sizes.
Role Overview:
We are currently looking for a Specialty Product Manager to manage the sales of specialty chemicals including resins and additives to manufacturers in the UK: surface coatings, paints, adhesives, and construction. You will also have the primary role in managing all aspects of a major global principal and developing the market for all additional specialty product ranges.
General Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Delivery of budgeted targets and KPIs as set.
2. Increase revenue, gross margin, and number of trading customers.
3. Representation of the company at relevant trade exhibitions and specific events.
4. Proactively provide business development proposals, properly qualified and quantified.
5. Key relationship builder with customers, Principals, and colleagues (all stakeholders).
6. Work closely with the Specialties Team & QMS to meet customer and Principal requirements and enhance service levels.
7. Travel both within the UK and occasional international (training and trade shows) will be required.
8. Develop and significantly expand our sales.
Ideal Candidate:
1. Science Degree in Chemistry / Polymer Science / Material Science / Chemical Engineering with a few years in technical sales or purchasing.
2. Experience within the sectors surface coatings, paints, adhesives, and construction would be an advantage.
3. Excellent attention to detail.
4. Good communication and relationship building skills.
5. The ability to work as part of a team.
6. Self-motivated and capable of managing your time effectively.
7. The ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently.
8. A good level of IT literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
9. Full UK driving licence required.
10. Awareness of industry-specific legislation such as REACH.
