Job Type: Full-time, part-time consideredSalary: From £26,000.00 per year (commensurate with experience)Location:Leicester Your new role As a Commercial Administrator, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive administrative support to the Purchasing and Surveying departments. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with good commercial awareness and a strong desire to develop their skills within a quality-driven and reputable business in the housebuilding sector. You will be integral in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the commercial functions, contributing directly to the successful delivery of new housing developments. Assist in the creation and production of detailed tender packs for upcoming new build sites. Issue tender packs to potential suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring accurate and timely distribution. Provide support in the initial analysis of submitted tenders, collating and summarising key information. Assist in the regular updating of project budgets with relevant cost information. Communicate details of any purchase order amendments and cost variations effectively to the wider commercial team. Support the maintenance of up-to-date costings within the main company database, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Efficiently raise purchase orders for both new and ongoing construction sites, adhering to company procedures. Assist the surveying team with the accurate and timely processing of weekly timesheets. Professionally and efficiently respond to email and telephone queries from internal and external stakeholders. Assist in the investigation and resolution of invoice queries, liaising with relevant departments and suppliers. Provide general administrative support to the Purchasing and Surveying teams as required. What you'll need to succeed Excellent Organisational and Time Management Skills: Proven ability to manage workload effectively, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally with colleagues, suppliers, and other stakeholders. Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Proficient in using Word, Excel, and Outlook for administrative tasks and data management. Initiative and Attention to Detail: Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and demonstrate excellent accuracy in all aspects of work. Collaborative Team Player: Ability to work effectively and positively with colleagues across different departments, contributing to a supportive team environment. Commercial Awareness (Desirable): A basic understanding of commercial principles within a business context would be advantageous.
