Contract Type: Temporary until 10 October 2025 (secondment opportunities available for internal staff members subject to agreement from your line manager)

The Role:
Joining our friendly and supportive team within Hampshire County Council Highways, you will provide general and technical support to the team managing the maintenance, improvement, regulatory, and asset management functions of the highway network to provide an efficient and effective service to elected Members and the public.
You will be expected to take responsibility for Facility Management and Health and Safety within the Hook depot. You will be required to take and prepare minutes from team meetings. Your role will be a crucial link between the central Highway Operation Centre and the technical team in the depot.
You will be required to support the technical team to manage their enquiries and feedback on resource issues and pressures to the Highway Operation Centre.
Reporting to the Senior Technical Officer, you will need to develop excellent relationships with support staff working within the Highway Operation Centre, Engineers and technical teams.
You will be a confident communicator with excellent customer service skills and the ability to multi-task and meet conflicting deadlines. You will be familiar with computer systems and the ability to manage data to a high degree of accuracy. Ideally, you will also have an interest in and appreciation for highway engineering and the management of our large road network in Hampshire.
