As our Estates Assistant, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work. Support the implementation of the estate portfolio strategy, maximising performance and optimisation of the portfolio, ensuring estate managed in accordance with required compliance standards, including Government Functions Standard. Acquisitions and Disposals - support Senior Estates Manager with identification, appraisal and acquisition of temporary and permanent sites and disposals strategy. Property Data Management and reporting - help maintain and improve effective Met Office Estate records and systems to improve data capture and knowledge (such as Propman; e-PIMS/InSite) and Government Data Standards. Support Senior Estates Manager with maintaining and updating systems, including compliance with Cabinet Office estates data commissions where required. Cost Management - assisting the Senior Estates Manager and Finance Business Partner with estate portfolio cost information including approval of invoices. Stakeholder Engagement - communicate clearly with key internal and external stakeholders and professional advisors. Planning & Development - support provision of advise on feasibility of planning permissions and impact of planning policy in support of business and Met Office Safeguarding policy. As our Estates Assistant, your total reward package will be up to £46,974 annually, which includes: £33,794 base pay An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 28.97% Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years and option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave Essential Criteria, skills and experience: Relevant Property Management related degree (e.g. RICS accredited Real Estate Management or similar); ideally working toward RICS Assessment of Competence - Met Office are experts by nature, always learning and developing to do things better. Customer & Client Service - be able to take time to investigate, understand and analyse the needs of the client to best inform decisions.
