Maintenance Manager – Based in Bury St Edmonds (Covering Bury St Edmunds and Dudley) Salary: £55,000 + Excellent Benefits +use of Company Van
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm
Location: Primarily based in Bury St Edmonds, with 1 day/week at the Dudley Depot.
Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager with a strong manufacturing background, who thrives on driving performance through data, KPIs, and strategic planning?
We’re seeking a PPM-focused Maintenance Manager to oversee engineering operations across two distribution centres (Dudley and Bury St Edmunds). You’ll be based mostly at Bury St Edmonds (whichever is closer to your home), with travel once a week to the other site — a company van and fuel costs are provided.
This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone who has previously set up and implemented PPM maintenance systems such as SHIRE, Pirana, MaintenanceX, or bespoke platforms — not just worked within a pre-established system.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead maintenance across both sites (teams of 3–4 engineers per site)
Implement, optimise, and own the PPM strategy and system
Track and improve key KPIs: machine uptime, MTBF, cost per product, engineer efficiency, etc.
Drive continuous improvement and deliver measurable cost savings
Report regularly to senior leadership with actionable insights and data
Oversee compliance, RAMS, and contractor activity with minimal production disruption
Train, mentor, and develop your engineering team
Manage energy consumption and engineering budgets What You Must Have
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Maintenance/Engineering Manager in a manufacturing environment
NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent)
Demonstrable experience of implementing and managing a PPM system (not just inheriting one)
Ability to show evidence of impact:
Reduced downtime
Designed and implemented custom PPM tools
Delivered continuous improvement strategies that increased production
Managed KPI-driven engineering departments You’ll Get:
