As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a skilled and passionate Electric Conversion Technician to join our team.
Job Role
As an Electric Conversion Technician, you’ll be responsible for performing high-quality electric conversions on classic vehicles. This role also includes occasional CAD modelling to support fabrication requirements, for which you will receive an additional bonus. Training will be provided on electric conversions to ensure you gain the necessary skills for the role.
Responsibilities
* Carry out full electric powertrain conversions on classic vehicles, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
* Install and configure electric motors, battery systems, controllers, and associated components.
* Assist with wiring, high-voltage systems, and vehicle diagnostics.
* Occasionally use CAD software to design brackets, mounts, and other fabrication requirements.
* Collaborate with the workshop team to develop innovative solutions for unique conversion challenges.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
* Work with engineers and fabricators to ensure CAD models translate effectively into physical components.
* Follow all health and safety procedures related to high-voltage systems and workshop operations.
Requirements
* Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with experience in automotive repairs or modifications.
* Familiarity with EV powertrains, battery systems, and high-voltage safety (training provided if necessary).
* Experience with CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar) is required, as the applicant will be expected to produce models for fabricators.
* Ability to problem-solve and work on bespoke vehicle builds.
* Strong attention to detail and a passion for classic vehicles and electric conversions.
* Good teamwork and communication skills.
