Senior Civil/Structural Inspection Engineer
Number of positions and Work Locations: 1 Engineer based in the North East (Billingham) or North West (Warrington). Hybrid Working.
Job Summary
In-service inspection of Civil and Structural assets to meet regulatory and customer requirements. Responsible for provision of inspection services to clients in the UK.
Job Description
Civil/Structural Inspection Engineer and Team Leader:
1. Development of Civil/Structural Inspection opportunities for new and existing clients.
2. Development of client requirements for ongoing inspections.
3. Preparing proposals for inspections including scope and estimated costs.
4. Drafting and reviewing Written Schemes of Examination (WSE).
5. Identifying plant preparation requirements from the WSE.
6. Preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for plant inspections.
7. Examination of Civil and Structural assets in accordance with the WSE and TUV procedures.
8. Preparation of clear written reports supported by photographs in compliance with TUV procedures.
9. Assessment of deterioration and identification of any mandatory actions or recommendations.
10. Endorsement of reports indicating recommended next inspection date(s) and any mandatory actions or recommendations.
11. Issuing reports in electronic and/or hard copy formats to suit client requirements.
12. Carry out inspections in the UK.
Education
HNC/Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent). Incorporated Engineer status (desirable but not essential).
Experience & Skills
1. Civil and Structural Engineering background.
2. Understanding of Civil and Structural Engineering principles.
3. Ability to identify defects and remedial work solutions.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication.
5. Use of IT and software e.g. Microsoft Word, inspection reporting platform, photographs, email etc.
6. Eye for detail.
7. Ability to accurately follow procedures.
8. Courage to make (and defend) difficult decisions.
9. Good interpersonal skills, and the capability to work independently.
10. Ambition to learn and progress.
11. Experience of chemical and/or oil & gas industry is desirable.
12. Current UK driving licence.
